After School Volunteer Tutoring Position

ORGANIZATION: YMCA of Greater Kansas City

Become an active volunteer with the YMCA and provide afterschool tutoring in the Center, Mo.
School District! Volunteers are needed to assist and support teachers in tutoring individual and small
groups of students to achieve their academic goals.

Work directly with one to three students to

  • Assist with homework, spelling lessons, math practice, etc.
  • Teach good work habits, study skills, and organizational skills
  • Listen to students read aloud and check for comprehension
  • Encourage students toward positive attitudes about self and school
Tutoring Opportunities are at Red Bridge Elementary and Indian Creek Elementary.
