ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

  • 13 people are interested

We’re inviting young ladies and gentlemen (ages 12-19) from all over the world to pledge Nu Sigma Theta, an organization formed for social networking, mentoring, community service and professional development.

Each month, we send out a "Community Service Planner" with a list of projects and activities that we will do for that month. You only do the projects that you are most interested in and/or that you have time to do. Here's an example of what you could be asked to do -

  • Holiday Card Outreach: We are making/signing holiday cards that will be delivered to local nursing homes and youth shelters.
  • Holiday Outreach Pt 2: We are making/signing holiday cards that will be delivered to three children. Two children have recently experienced merciless instances of bullying; one child is severely disabled, but enjoys receiving holiday cards. They look for cards from people all over the world.
  • Writing pen pal letters to students in Thailand, Poland, Turkey, South Africa and more.
You get to choose how much time you devote to this and we keep track of the projects you do (assigning a number of service hours to them) so that we can verify your participation for school. We also send scholarship information to our members monthly.

Candidates must have an email address that is checked at least monthly.

To apply, please respond with this mini-application -
