Nu Sigma Theta NY - FALL RUSH

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

  • 6 people are interested

We are looking for committed ladies and gentlemen (ages 20-older) from any area of New York to pledge Nu Sigma Theta, an organization formed for community service, social networking, youth mentoring and professional development.

Each month, we send out a "Community Service Planner" with a list of projects and activities that we will do for that month. The majority can be done from home while others might ask for "in person" participation, especially around the holiday season. You only do the projects that you are most interested in and/or that you have time to do. We have some social activities as well, but these are not mandatory. For October and November, we will be collecting supplies to be donated to the homeless and to families facing crisis due to the recent storms and wildfires.

We are looking to mobilize service minded people to build programs, advocate, mentor and promote. But while we are committed to work, we like to have fun too!

Candidates will participate in our orientation via email (you will be asked to read a document and follow instructions at the end of it). Once you complete orientation, you will be officially initiated into the organization and can begin working on projects with us. #ComeTogether

Mission Statement

The mission of MJHS is to aid in the provision of quality education and sound character building programs for young people.

Description

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.

Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation.
