DARCC Crisis Hotline Advocacy

The Crisis Line Advocate provides emotional support and informative resources to survivors who call the 24-hour hotline. After completing required training (DETAILS LISTED BELOW), calls are received via each advocate's personal phone.

Training will begin on Tuesday, January 15 from 6:00 - 9:30pm at our DARCC Office and continue through Thursday, February 14th. I’ve included the schedule for your reference below.

  • Week 1: 1/15, 1/17
  • Week 2: 1/22, 1/24
  • Week 3: 1/29, 1/31
  • Week 4: 2/5, 2/7
  • Week 5: 2/12, 2/14

Volunteer Responsibilities

The role of the Crisis Line Advocate is to provide emotional support and informative resources to survivors (and their friends/family) who call the 24-hour hotline.

Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center (DARCC) provides survivors and their loved ones the resources they need to reclaim their lives. The staff and trained advocates help our clients navigate the journey of healing in a safe and confidential environment.

DARCC’s comprehensive program includes counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy; but there is also a dedication to social change through prevention education and outreach programs to the community.

We understand that traumatic experiences can impact survivors and their loved ones in a variety of ways, so we're committed to providing the best level of care and support possible. DARCC focuses on meeting the unique needs of all populations including LGBTQ+, the disabled and elderly.
