Calling all foodies. Do you love watching the Food Network? Do you love creating innovative and healthy recipes with what you have around the house? Please come to our kitchen and prep some meals so that our Families in the Ronald McDonald Family Rooms may not just eat, but eat well!
This volunteer will prepare the donations of fresh produce we receive so our families can enjoy healthy meals. He or she may also be asked to use donated gift cards to purchase more fruits and vegetables from the grocery store. Shifts are anytime Monday 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Thursday 7:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Description
RMHC Dayton is a home-away-from-home for families of critically ill or injured, hospitalized children. We exist to serve and sustain families when serious illness or injury strike the most cherished part of their lives, their children.
The House provides a safe and comforting temporary residence near local hospitals so families can stay together. The House is a place where they can eat a home-cooked meal, take a shower, do laundry, or rest in their private guest room; and all of these essential amenities are available just minutes away from their child's bedside.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room is a place of respite right there within the hospital, where families with in-patient children can grab a cup of coffee, shower, do laundry, eat and rest just steps away from their child's bedside. Currently, RMHC Dayton has one Family Room program within Dayton Children's Hospital.
Annually, the Ronald McDonald House of the Miami Valley serves families from approximately 30 Ohio counties, 10 other states, and occasionally other countries.We have been serving families in our region since 1980. We partner with all local hospitals that serve pediatric patients. The Ronald McDonald House serves an average of 500 families a year. In 2015, we served 356 families. In 2016, with the opening of the new Ronald McDonald Family Room, we have served 2,900 families.
The average stay for House guests is 12 nights. A family's stay can range anywhere from one night to 90 days. There is no maximum stay.
