There are over 300,000 homeless youth in our Californian schools. Children that experience homelessness need extra time and attention to succeed. They need your help today!
At Community Education Partnerships, we train and match our volunteer tutors with students in their community to assist students with their homework, academic skills, and provide encouragement, and support!
The tutor and student meet once a week for 1-2 hours, M-F, within the hours of 3-7pm at the shelter. The tutor works independently with their student and is expected to connect with CEP staff regularly to communicate about progress, to record hours, and to ask for assistance (such as tutoring resources, support, and school supplies). All tutors must be fingerprinted prior to being paired with a student.
Community Education Partnerships is seeking volunteer tutors for students in Oakland for the rest of the 2018 school year.
Volunteer training is coming up so don't delay - students are waiting! Go to www.cep.ngo/volunteer to apply and sign up for a Volunteer Training date (Please indicate in your application that you are applying to be a one-on-one tutor). At our training, we will answer any and all questions you may have. We look forward to meeting you. Please help our students today!
