8 Volunteers needed - Mondays 2pm-4pm, Thursdays 9am-Noon and Fridays 9am- Noon
Help unload and sort food items from pallets/boxes. Sort and bag loose fresh produce. Assist the pantry coordinator in keeping the shelves will be moved forward, and new items from storage will be stocked at the back of the shelves.
Help the pantry coordinator clean up the pantry in sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, etc. in order to maintain a clean and hygienic pantry space.
Some lifting required (up to 20 lbs), bending, twisting, reaching and standing/moving through the pantry for the duration of the volunteer shift

For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.
Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
