This part-time position is responsible for management of the business of the non-profit, coordinating with team members in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and IT. At a high level the Operations Manager understands the status of all the non-profit programs and ensures that colleagues are kept informed so they can support the program managers with marketing programs, finance support and appropriate staffing. Regular parts of the assignment include record keeping, to include organization charts; oversight and negotiation with service providers for insurance coverage and office leases; and problem solving to ensure our volunteer workforce and contract counselors have the tools and information required to support FACTR.

The position reports to the President. Much of the work can be done remotely, via email and phone, but office management and attendance at meetings will require the Operations Manager to be in the San Jose office about 5 hours out of the 20-hour workweek. Candidates must possess strong verbal and written communications skills, and have experience demonstrating good planning and organization.

The specific purpose of this corporation is for service, research and training:

  1. To provide counseling, psycho- educational services and cultural awareness programs for newcomer families and their children that is respectful of ethnic values and diverse views, including State Laws pertaining to Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Educational, Immigration and other areas.
  2. To provide a setting for professionals who work with stressed families in newcomer and other circumstances to gain knowledge and skills to help them be effective in their work.
  3. To develop a knowledge base for dissemination of practices, methods and concepts for use in the broad mental health and Social Services field.
