HERO volunteers provide telephone support to caregivers of loved ones with dementia on a monthly basis. Through the phone calls the volunteer gives the caregiver encouragement as well as helping to identify services and resources to help the family care for their loved one at home.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the world’s leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. The Iowa Chapter provides vital services, education, and support to people living with Alzheimer's, family members affected and caregivers affected by Alzheimer's. We serve those affected by providing these services in 75 Iowa and 5 Illinois counties.
