P.A.L.S. for Healing (Paper. Art Therapy. Letting Go. Self-Actualization) nonprofit organization seeks to empower individuals and families who have suffered trauma or loss to not only regain their lives but achieve their highest human potential. We provide cutting-edge trauma-informed therapies for individuals and families including art therapy, EMDR, and SITCAP. We also provide education and training for professionals and community helpers empowering them to advocate and help those who have suffered trauma and/or loss achieve optimal health.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the
organization
Survey staff quarterly to assess needs for volunteer assistance
Maintain Volunteer Service Descriptions for each volunteer assignment
Conduct and/or arrange for virtual volunteer orientation and training
Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service
Organize and participate in virtual volunteer recognition
Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers
Act as a single point of contact for communications
Confer with volunteers to resolve grievances and promote cooperation and interest
Create and distribute various communications and publications
Author monthly newsletter, "Volunteer View" Facilitate distribution of information relevant to volunteers
Skills
Proficient in basic computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and online newsletters
Record keeping skills (for admissions and marketing)
Organization and planning skills
Demonstrated capability to conduct one’s self in a calm and professional demeanor when
dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations
Demonstrated capability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers
Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities

Description
P.A.L.S. for Healing provides cutting edge mental health services that are trauma informed, including EMDR, Art Therapy, Crisis Response, Trauma Informed Substance Use Therapy and SITCAP. We have three locations within Cuyahoga County and provide offsite group and individual services within Cuyahoga and Summit counties. We also provide professional workshops and trainings for individuals and organizations.
