Description

The Somali society has been bleeding and leaking in many different areas. This community came from a background where they faced lack of education, wars, death and many other hardships in Somalia. They believed that coming to the United States is the solution to all of their problems . Yet, coming to America feels like rebuke to them.

Knowing each Somali Family have multiple children, they came here with a hope that their children will receive the best education and will have the life their parents only dreamed of. Coming to this busy country, they got caught up with its life style. Both of parents are trying to make a living for their children and trying to survive in this country. That is where the leaking came from, the parent are busy with work to the point that they lose control of their children’s school work or behavior.

This is where First Step Tech role comes. Our organization is here to help the parents and the children academically and socially. The organization has operated for several months and is providing a place for community members to gather and have legal clinic and computer training programs that gives opportunity families and youths.

We are looking a grant writer who can help us write and find grants.
