ORGANIZATION: Friends of the National Zoo

We are recruiting education volunteers to speak with Zoo visitors about the amazing conservation work the National Zoo is doing to save species! Our Reptile Discovery Center volunteers receive training about the animals and about how to tell their stories. They help us to to engage visitors with information about individual animals, talking about what is happening to reptiles and amphibians around the world, and sharing a conservation action that visitors can do that will help us all to preserve these beautiful animals.

Volunteers commit to three 3-hour shifts per month, and attend evening monthly meetings. Training begins in October, and candidates must apply and be interviewed. Training includes in-person and online segments.
