We’re looking for volunteers to help make this year’s Haunted Library a spooktacular success! The event will take place at the Lancaster Public Library on Friday, October 27 from 6:00pm-8:30pm. We have volunteer roles for the faint and not-so-faint of heart!
Feeling extra creepy? Volunteer to scare our patrons sill in the Hollywood Horrors Basement Maze. We’re looking for 3-4 volunteers to dress up like the very worst characters from Hollywood's scariest movies, and give our patrons a scare they won’t soon forget. We’ll provide the costumes, and you provide the fright! Time commitment: 5-9PM.
Prefer a lighter experience? Volunteer for activities designed with our younger patrons in mind. Volunteers will be stationed along a Trick-or-Treat trail that winds through the children’s section. Worried about cavities? We could use your help at the Halloween craft table. Seriously, plenty of work to go around - we’re looking for up to 12 volunteers! Time commitment: 5-9pm.
Have you seen it all and then some? You’d be perfect to judge our Halloween costume contest! We’re looking for volunteers with a discerning eye to serve on a panel of three or five judges. You’ll be in charge of singling out the best of the best but everyone’s a winner in our book! Time commitment: approximately 7-8PM.
Though we’ve tried to think of everything, we’ll need a few brave souls to volunteer as floaters. We’ll put you to work taking and selling tickets at the door but, after that, it’ll be "other duties as assigned"! Time commitment: 5-9PM.
