Every Tuesday, food scraps are collected from neighborhood residents at the Bowling Green Greenmarket and transported by cart to Battery Maritime Building so a local compost site can process it.Volunteers are needed to help the Compost Coordinator manage this busy food scrap drop-off by assisting with outreach, explanation, and transport food scraps by a cart to Battery Maritime Building. It is a fossil fuel free way to transport the food scraps! No experience necessary, just bring a positive attitude and enthusiasm for waste diversion and recycling. This event is outdoors and takes place rain or shine, so please dress for the weather.
