Planting day volunteers at work
Join us as a planting volunteer at a Friends of Trees planting!

Wow December already? Time flies when you are volunteering with Friends of Trees, but we are not slowing down...come out to our first Green Space planting of December and get ready to green up your community.

Friends of Trees is working with Clean Water Services to restore the Churchill Forest natural area to a diverse and healthy riparian forest and ephemeral wetland. This project is situated in the headwaters of Summer Creek and while the vast majority of the watershed is developed with roads, homes, and strip malls, the stream itself runs through a well-established vegetated corridor thanks to the work of Clean Water Services and area residents. This project will help to protect the uppermost section of the watershed by planting a wide variety of native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants.

Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The planting will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffee, as well as gloves, tools and guidance. Please come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy, closed-toe shoes and get ready to have fun!

Looking to volunteer as a group? RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people - copy and paste this link http://www.friendsoftrees.org/volunteering/group-registrationto do so. RSVPs are not required for individuals or groups of 4 or fewer -- you can simply show up!
