Pets for Patriots

Do you have a gift with words and love writing stories? Are you experienced in interviewing and enjoy the opportunity for conversation? If so, this might be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! Pets for Patriots is looking for writers and interviewers to help our veterans share their stories about their military service and how their adopted shelter pets changed their lives for the better.

Pets for Patriots is a registered national charity that helps service and veteran members of the United States military adopt the most overlooked shelter pets.

What's required?

  • Volunteers work from home and claim story assignments as they have availability.
  • The assignment generally includes interviewing a veteran by phone about their adoption experience.
  • From that interview, a writer creates a compelling story such as those you see on our blog: https://petsforpatriots.org/the-wet-nose-blog/

Pets for Patriots gives the gifts of fidelity, joy and love to both veteran and pet through companion animal adoption. The organization helps veterans and military members adopt the most overlooked shelter pets, including adult, special needs, long-term homeless, and large breed pets, offering them a second chance at life through adoption. Pets for Patriots partners with U.S. shelter and veterinary networks, military and veteran organizations, and the public to value and honor the lives of both the most vulnerable and heroic among us.
