We are seeking an organized, motivated and self-driven person to assist our Real Estate and Construction Department. In addition to administrative work within the office, the individual will gain experience in the coordination of construction work with contractors, budget tracking and payments, as well as assist project managers with any pre-development tasks regarding new projects. Additionally, this individual will create a vendor database.
Degree Track
Undergraduate junior or senior, Graduate Level in Urban Studies, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or Housing/Real Estate Development
Required and Preferred Skills
* Proficiency in Excel, Windows and Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc.)
* Interest in housing/real estate development, construction, and/or architecture and ideally are in school to pursue this interest
* Well-organized and task oriented
* GIS/Mapping and Database/Data Analysis skills a plus
Additional information/details regarding this position
Please provide a brief overview of your team/department and its day to day work: Habitat for Humanity is known throughout the world for its unique building model. Volunteers work alongside the families who will own the completed homes. Habitat NYC has adapted its model for New York City’s complex urban building environment. With the help of City of New York’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development and other governmental agencies, Habitat NYC acquires land and buildings for a nominal fee. Professional architects design our buildings and professional contractors build the buildings along with thousands of volunteers as well as Habitat Homeowners.

Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County creates, preserves, and advocates for healthy, affordable homes and the generational equity-building opportunities that homeownership provides. With the support of thousands of volunteers each year, we’re building a more equitable New York-to address centuries of unjust, racist housing laws and financing mechanisms that prevented communities of color from entering the homeownership market and shaped the geography of the wealth, health, and education inequality we see today.
