Angel Tree Application Volunteers

Angel Tree Registration Volunteer Needed: We are looking for 10 energetic volunteers who are willing to help us register the thousands of families The Salvation Army Roanoke Angel Tree program helps each year. The volunteers will need to be ready to use a computer for basic data entry. Each volunteer will be asked to help meet with families to enter the information needed to complete their Angel Tree profile. We have shifts available between 10 AM - 6 PM. Shifts are a minimum of 4 hours.

***We especially need those who are bilingual in English and Spanish***

Description

The Salvation Army strives to meet the needs of individuals and families in crisis. Services include emergency material (food, clothing, etc.) Christmas assistance, Family services Energy Funds. Nursing home and hospital visitation, food pantry, Canteen Ministry - ministry to local housing projects. Programs include senior citizen club, Domestic shelter for women and children, Young Adult Drop in Center, as well as spiritual programs such as Bible Studies and Sunday worship services. Fundraising activities include general public appeals, special events and Christmas kettles. The Salvation Army is often among the first on the scene when disaster strikes. Officers are trained to meet all kinds of emergencies by providing food, shelter, clothing and spiritual comfort. Disaster canteens have become familiar sights to firemen, policemen and victims alike.
