Taliesin Preservation invites volunteers to participate in a two-day trail-building event through the Welsh Hills on the Taliesin estate in conjunction with the Ice Age Trail Alliance. As part of our mission to preserve Frank Lloyd Wright’s Wisconsin estate and to share with the public a greater understanding of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and ideas, we’re expanding the visitor experience. Wright’s connection to the land is a part of his story that we want to share, and this trail will offer an opportunity to experience the landscape that inspired him. No trail-building experience is necessary, and there are roles for all ages and abilities. Training is provided by certified volunteer crew leaders and participants will be able to enjoy meals and, for those working with us both days, a place to pitch a tent. Trail construction typically includes removing trees, branches and brush, moving earth to create a flat and easily traversed walking surface, and installing trail markers. Both days are schedule to run 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 29-30 and will feature refreshments, lunch, and dinner on Friday and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. On-site camping Friday is available.

Mission Statement
As stewards, Taliesin Preservation's dual mission is to preserve the cultural, built and natural environments that comprise the Taliesin property and to conduct public educational and cultural programming that provides a greater understanding of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and ideas.
Description
Taliesin Preservation works to preserve Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin, as an eminent example of Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision, to illustrate the impact he made on architecture through his work at Taliesin, and to share with the public the breadth and depth of his ideas. We operate the Frank Lloyd Wright Visitor Center at Taliesin, which offers public access to the site and grounds; serve as an educational resource on Frank Lloyd Wright and his work; and conduct the preservation program to maintain, restore and nurture the physical environment of the Taliesin Estate.
