World Dumpling Fest, the kickoff event to Inherit Chicago, will feature dumplings of the world from Chicago’s best ethnic restaurants, cultural performances that preview of programs to come throughout the month in the neighborhoods, and heritage-based artisans selling original crafts and artwork. This all-ages event is FREE to the public.
First things first introduction - I am DaVida, Volunteer Coordinator with Chicago Cultural Alliance’s Inherit Chicago! I am sure the next question is, what is Inherit Chicago? Glad you asked - kinda.
Inherit Chicago gives people a chance to explore the cultural centers and heritage museums that make Chicago vibrant, the stories that enrich our communities, and the art that brings us together. Inherit Chicago will offer Chicagoans and visitors a cultural journey through all of its arts, conversation, and food in a month-long, multi-event festival, happening across 30 neighborhood-based heritage museums and cultural centers -all members of the Chicago Cultural Alliance.

Mission Statement
The Chicago Cultural Alliance's mission is to connect, promote, and support centers of cultural heritage for a more inclusive and culturally vibrant Chicago. We do this by facilitating intercultural collaboration and resource sharing within our membership, which is made up of centers of cultural heritage (Core Members) and partners ( Partner Members), in the greater arts and culture sector.
Description
The Chicago Cultural Alliance is a consortium of Chicago-area ethnic museums, cultural centers, and historical societies. Chicago is home to diverse communities, representing a broad spectrum of cultural heritage and identity that transcends geographic and political boundaries. We define cultural heritage as a legacy of tangible and intangible attributes that include monuments and objects, language, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festive events, and world knowledge passed from generation to generation.
The Alliance is the only organization of its kind in the U.S., representing Chicago-area heritage museums, cultural centers, and historical societies - our Core Members. Alliance Core Members serve 30+ diverse communities with populations ranging from 3,000 to more than one million, located in more than 24 neighborhoods and nine suburbs. Nearly 60% of Core Members are anchors for underserved and immigrant populations.
