Libby's Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation is hosting our 10 th anniversary of "Scooter 4 Hooters" fundraising event on Saturday, October 21, 2017. This event includes a 22-mile, police escorted scooter ride through scenic Orlando, starting and ending at Wall Street Plaza. A celebration of life event follows that includes great speakers, live music, food, a silent auction, scooter raffles, and a survivor tribute. Guests do not need a scooter to participate! This signature FUNdraising event promises a fun day in Central Florida. 100% of net proceeds will go to Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)3 grassroots nonprofit organization.
We are looking for at least eight (8) volunteers to specifically sign-in scooter drivers and riders. This includes: verifying prior registration and signing up new drivers and/or riders prior to start time at noon.

The mission of Libby’s Legacy is to provide comprehensive breast health care to the underserved Central Florida community through education, mammograms, follow up diagnostics and Hope Coaches on the journey from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. Libby’s Legacy also helps stage IV breast cancer patients battling this disease by granting wishes in order to create cherished memories with loved ones through the LIVE BIG program. Not just Surviving...but LIVING!
Description
Libby's Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 grassroots nonprofit organization, formed in 2007 by Robin Maynard-Harris after the great loss of her mother, Libby Maynard, to stage IV breast cancer. Libby skipped her annual mammogram only ONE year and was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer the very next screening.
The mission of Libby's Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation is threefold: 1) offer wish-granting to women with stage IV breast cancer; 2) offer support and advocacy to women diagnosed with breast cancer; and 3) help women avoid a late stage cancer diagnosis by providing underserved and underinsured women of Central Florida with free mammograms and breast health services.
Since 2007, Libby’s Legacy has provided more than 6,000 breast health services, and diagnosed/navigated over 100 men and women with breast cancer. They have also awarded 10 LIVE BIG cruises to stage IV breast cancer survivors.
