The Brighton HOA is a neighborhood that has a unique drainage swale that collects stormwater runoff from all the neighbors roof's and drains into a bioswale. The system holds stormwater on site and effectively cleans the water coming in by use of native plants, which can naturally filter pollutants in urban settings. We are hosting a planting event to help this recently constructed project into a thriving native system capable of improving water quality, native biodiversity, educational opportunities, and community inclusiveness. We need the help of dedicated volunteers like YOU to help get 450 native plants in the ground to help establish this site into a functioning ecological asset!
Please join us for a day of getting a little dirty and helping to improve our riparian ecosystems in an urban setting! Coffee and snacks will be provided!
WHEN: Saturday, September 30th 9AM-12PM
WHERE: Brighton Home Owner's Association (Coordinates for project site are 45°25'42.7"N 122°43'58.7"W) or a closest physical address is Provincial Hill Way Lake Oswego, OR 97035.
WHAT: A native planting restoration event!
All ages and people are welcome to this event!
Please come dressed to work outside: long pants, sturdy closed-toe shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing. We work rain or shine and conditions can be muddy so be prepared! Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided.
