Mentors are needed to build relationships and to act a positive adult role models for youth and teen programming in Naugatuck, CT. This mentoring can be done in a variety of formats, including:
- small group mentoring for boys or girls (curriculum & materials provided)
- coaching for programs like Girls on the Run (confidence & self-esteem building program that incorporates running for 3rd-6th grade girls - you do not need to be a runner!)
- adult volunteers for "teen night" programs (dances, laser tag, open basketball, game nights, etc - you literally help by hanging out!)
- one-on-one mentors for youth (meet weekly and/or participate in community events on a monthly basis with a teen you are paired up with for a year or more)
- teach workshops, lead action groups, tutor, or guide community service activities (during after school hours, evenings, or on the weekend)
Initial training, ongoing support, and materials are provided throughout these programs and other opportunities. Teens in our community need positive role models they can build relationships and "hang out" with. Join our team!
