Business matchmaker

ORGANIZATION: MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Mint Artists Guild is growing - and seeks one or two engaged and connected volunteers to introduce us to Detroit area businesses that may sponsor / support / hire Mint in 2018.

This could be a project for a MBA student or as way for a successful business development professional to give back to young people in Detroit. Or it could be someone who has a huge network of successful entrepreneurial friends and colleagues and who secretly or not so secretly wants more art and culture in their lives - and in Detroit.

Your role will be part matchmaker, part coach, maybe a partnership person. We try to see this and most of what we do as a win-win-win so we can support more creative jobs in Detroit and launch more creative careers. We also want to give away more original art through our Paint Detroit with Generosity initiative.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

PO Box 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on an alumni engagement program, adding creative jobs to our website and so much more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
