Impact a life, including your own! Pathway Hospice provides care to patients throughout the DFW area. We are currently looking for compassionate individuals to join our Volunteer Team!

Below are current opportunities available:

Direct Patient Care/Companion/Caregiver Respite volunteers provide a wide span of care our patients and their family members. Our volunteer team helps bring a new level of enrichment to patient's lives, when need most. Below you'll discover some of the ways our volunteers assist.   • Provide companionship to patients
    • Talk
    • Read books
    • Play card games
    • Look at photos
  • Sitter/Respite Service to caregivers
    • Allows caregivers time to run personal errands, attend appointments
  • Grocery Shopping
    • Provide grocery shopping/delivery to patients
    • CANNOT PICK UP PRESCRIPTIONS
    • CANNOT TRANSPORT PATIENTS
  • Outside activities
    • Go for walks (if unrestricted to activities or outdoors)
  • Pet Service
    • Assist with pets, cleaning up, feeding, bathing
  • Bereavement Companionship, and the 11th Hour Volunteer
Our Bereavement/11th Hour Volunteer Program is a service that we provide to our patients who are not able to have family or friends surrounding them during their final hours. This is an opportunity to provide a special level of comforting support and companionship to those in their final moments of life.

Volunteers who are assigned to this program are given 12 hours of initial orientation and training through our Director of Nursing and Medical Social Workers. We will provide ongoing training and personal grief support to our volunteers and staff members.

***Volunteers must be 18+, complete a background check, TB screen, drug screen, and willing to complete the orientation process prior to making visits with patients and their families.

Description

Our hospice company is a program that prvides a coordinated program of care to terminally ill patients and supportive services to patients ,their families and significant others, 24 hours a day in both home and inpatient settings. Physical, social,spiritual, and emotional care is provided during the last stages of illness, during the dying process, and during bereavement by a medically directed interdisciplinary team consisting of patient/family, professionals, and volunteers.
