Are you a grant writer, or an aspiring grant writer?
We can use your expertise. Our organization seeks to connect all of the elements of the food system/cycle to urban communities. All too often, communities are denied access to fresh food. We seek to address this on multiple fronts: from increasing food literacy to growing the relationship between local/regional growers, urban farmers, schools, small markets, grocers, convenience stores, and community residents.
We've taken steps already. Our founder Chef Lara teaches food literacy classes throughout Atlanta and we have detailed plans to grow and diversify our offerings.
That's where you come in. As a grant writer, you'd apply for funding (oftentimes there are simple grants that don't even require a proposal) and then work on securing grants from foundations. How this happens will largely be driven by you - we already know of some and we'll put you right to work on those, but we're sure we're missing some. We'd love it if you'd proactively find ones we've missed.
The time commitment will be driven by you. We have a (virtual) meeting once a month, but other than that we will rely on you to put in the work when you can. It would be great if you lived in Atlanta, but it isn't a requirement.
Thanks for your time, we look forward to hearing from you!
