Do you have a laptop/computer with internet, a working webcam, and a microphone? Then volunteer to tutor Mathematics with Brooklyn Learning Lab from Monday to Friday for 50 minutes to 2 or 3 kids in one of our virtual classrooms. We are also looking for great storytellers who are willing to use our stories in the tutoring sessions.
For the 2017-2018 school year, our program "Mathematics and Culture Online" spans SIX sessions. The first session "The Ancients, Arabians, and Hindus culture in math: whole numbers, fractions, and decimals" lasts 30 days and will cover the following topics: Whole Numbers (Place Value), Fractions and Decimals.
We need folks interested in tutoring online and confident with their mathematical abilities and skills in whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Finally, we seek folks willing to spend time weekly preparing, practicing and engaging with our materials.
