Saving Children's Lives, One Heart at a Time

If you knit or crochet and would like to participate in Little Hats, Big Hearts you can help spread the word about the Children's Heart Foundation Texas! You will need to use all new red yarn for all hats and send them to 8415 Wurzbach Rd San Antonio, Tx 78229. Post mark hats no later than January 13 to arrive in time.

Little Hats, Big Hearts(tm) started in February 2014 in Chicago, IL collecting 300 hats in the first year. The program has now expanded to 29 states. We are thrilled to have so many volunteers interested in Little Hats, Big Hearts(tm)!

Thank you for making this program so special and for helping to spread awareness of heart disease and congenital heart defects.

Mission Statement

The goal of The Children’s Heart Foundation is to bring health, hope and happiness to children impacted by congenital heart defects, the number one birth defect in the United States. We accomplish this goal by funding the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects.

Description

In the United States, a child is born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) every 15 minutes. Children undergo surgeries and sadly, some die every day from CHDs.

We need to understand what causes CHDs and to prevent them. We need to detect and diagnose CHDs as early as possible. While much progress has been made, we need to develop new treatments for CHDs so that children undergo fewer invasive surgeries and improve the long-term prognosis for children with CHDs.

We need your support to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of CHDs in children.
