Our little school is looking for a part time teacher assistant

Mater Dei Academy is looking for a couple of teacher assistant volunteers to assist in teaching children in our K - 8 school. Most of the teaching will be done in the upper grades (5 - 8).

We are a Classical Education Institution and use the Memoria Press curriculum.

Therefore, the volunteer needs to be comfortable with teaching with children as in the Classical Model, not at children as is done in most schools today. This difference is important because our goal is to teach the children how to think which is especially true for the upper grades where Logic is introduced and where most volunteer activity will take place.

We are small school, leasing our school building from a Lutheran Church, which often causes confusion when people try to find us. :)

We use the Baltimore Catechism and the Catechism of the Catholic Church not only for religion class, but also throughout our academics.

Our staff come from all over Central Ohio - Franklin, Licking and Pickaway counties and are down to earth, welcoming people.

The children a well behaved, respectful children.
