We are looking for a Communications Assistant for the Orange County chapter of ChickTech. This volunteer role is responsible for external chapter communications and marketing, with the help of a volunteer team. Your role is to let the community know all about the great things we’re doing and that we need their support to succeed. This will include encouraging people to come to and volunteer at our events, securing PR opportunities, being active on social media, sending out newsletters, and keeping our web presence updated.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Ability to spot original branding opportunities.
• Understanding of social media and web
• Experience with social media platforms
• Ability to work well with others
• Can provide work samples (e.g., own managed social media accounts or online portfolios)

Key responsibilities include:

• Increase Orange County and National ChickTech brand recognition throughout local community
• Drive participation of both volunteers and the community of ChickTech events
• Develop and document marketing and communications strategies for the chapter
• Oversee implementation of the above marketing strategies, including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR
• Manage social media presence to improve social media reputation and recognition
• Create and maintain newsletters to keep our community and volunteers up-to-date with news and events within ChickTech
• Ensure website and social media platform is accurate, up to date, and reflects current chapter activities and needs
• Create flyers and other marketing collateral as needed for events and programs
• Participate in Fundraising efforts
