Living Room will have a table at the Atlanta Pride Festival with engaging activities to educate the community about our mission to end homelessness for those living with HIV/AIDS. The weekend will be full of many other events geared toward promoting unity, visibility and self-esteem among lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender and queer persons.
We will need volunteers willing to work 3 hour shifts during the festival which will be from 9:30AM-7:30PM on Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers will help with set-up, clean-up, and engaging festival attendees in our interactive activity. Each volunteer will be paired with a staff member for their shift.
Please contact Melanie Alm at melanie.alm@livingroomatl.org if you are interested.

Mission Statement
To ensure people living with HIV/AIDS in Georgia obtain and maintain long-term, stable housing.
Description
Living Room began in 1995, as a part of Trinity Community Ministries, to assist people living with HIV/AIDS find stable, affordable housing, and became an independent 501c3 organization in 1999. Our founder, Sister Mary Jane Lubinski, saw housing not only as an issue of maintaining human dignity, but as the foundation of effective medical treatment of HIV-a theory now confirmed by research.
Living Room serves both the 29-county Atlanta metropolitan area and the rural Northwest Georgia region surrounding Rome and Dalton. Over 90% of Living Room’s clients are defined as "extremely low income," so finding and maintaining affordable housing is essential to preventing homelessness.
Our organization is Georgia’s largest facilitator of emergency and transitional housing for people living with HIV/AIDS. Because we serve as Atlanta’s centralized intake and housing information and referral agency, we are able to assist over 1,500 individuals each year and make an important difference in their lives.
