Minuteman Senior Services

Deliver meals and smiles and make a difference in the lives of seniors in your community!

Minuteman Senior Services' mission is to assist seniors who want to age gracefully and independently in their own homes. Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers help this mission by delivering meals to homebound seniors Monday - Friday between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

As a Meals on Wheels volunteer driver, you do more than deliver a meal. You provide friendly contact that brightens the lives of homebound seniors. You also serve as our eyes and ears as a safety check and report any health or well-being concerns before they become a crisis.

Meals on Wheels is perfect to do on your own or with a friend. You can partner to share a route or deliver on alternative weeks. However you choose to help, you will see many smiling, grateful faces among the seniors on your route.

The commitment is one day a week or every other week. (Of course, we'd be happy if you can do more!)

While we serve 16 communities, this opportunity is located in Arlington Center.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to help seniors and people with disabilities live in the setting of their choice by engaging community resources and supporting their caregivers.

Description

Minuteman Senior Services helps seniors and disabled adults age with independence and dignity in the setting of their choice, most often their own homes and communities. Celebrating our 40th year in 2014, we support caregivers, local and long distance, who want to do the right thing for their loved ones and need help and advice as they balance the competing demands of family, work and self.

We offer over 20 programs and services and are continually improving and expanding to serve our consumers and their families in new and better ways. With over 100 employees, 500+ volunteers and over 70 subcontracted service providers that make up our vendor network we bring needed expertise, experience and resources to elders, the adult disabled and their families.

Our service area includes Acton, Arlington, Bedford, Boxborough, Burlington, Carlisle, Concord, Harvard, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, Maynard, Stow, Wilmington, Winchester and Woburn.

As a non-profit organization we are passionate about our mission to help people face the challenges of aging and caregiving by helping them make informed decisions and gain easy access to the needed help that fits within their means. Many of our services are free of charge, others are available on a sliding fee or private pay basis.
