The MCHD-MRC is seeking volunteers for its Youth Emergency Preparedness Program. Volunteers are needed to present an hour-long presentation in 5th grade classrooms throughout Macomb County. You will receive training on the script and the classroom materials, and you will act as a helper for other presenters until you feel comfortable doing the presentation on your own. Presentations take place between September and June on school days, typically between 8:30am and 3:00pm. Once you join the team, you will be notified when presentations are available, and you will be able to choose presentations that fit in your schedule.
No prior knowledge of emergency preparedness is necessary. Public speaking skills or experience with school-age children is preferred but not required.
If you are interested in becoming a Youth Preparedness Presenter or learning more about the program, please click the "I Want to Help" button above or contact Shannon Tanniru at mchd_mrc@macombgov.org or (586) 463-4361. We look forward to hearing from you!
