Youth Preparedness Helper
Youth Preparedness Helpers assist the Presenter by passing out and collecting materials, clicking through the PowerPoint presentation, and explaining the process to the teacher. Having two adults present in the classroom also helps keeps the students focused.

The MCHD-MRC is seeking volunteers for its Youth Emergency Preparedness Program. Volunteers are needed to assist presenters during the hour-long presentation in 5th grade classrooms throughout Macomb County. You will receive training on the classroom materials and presentation process, and you will have the opportunity to observe a presentation before assisting a presenter on your own. Presentations take place between September and June on school days, typically between 8:30am and 3:00pm. Once you join the team, you will be notified when presentations are available, and you will be able to choose presentations that fit in your schedule.

No prior knowledge of emergency preparedness is necessary.

If you are interested in becoming a Youth Preparedness Helper or learning more about the program, please click the "I Want to Help" button above or contact Shannon Tanniru at mchd_mrc@macombgov.org or (586) 463-4361. We look forward to hearing from you!
