Join our volunteer crews!

Do you like being outside? Does getting your hands dirty and learning something new sound appealing? Well, check out our Saturday volunteer planting event, you will work with other volunteers, gain new tree knowledge and best of all...we provide donuts, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.

Join Friends of Trees and the City of Salem in planting large stock oak trees along Hollywood Dr adjacent to Douglas McKay High School in an effort to increase tree canopy cover across NE neighborhoods. This event is supported by the City of Salem.

Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools and tree planting guidance. Please come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy, closed-toe shoes and get ready to have fun!

Looking to volunteer as a group? RSVPs are kindly requested for groups of more than 5 people - register here: http://friendsoftrees.org/volunteering/group-registration. RSVPs are not required for individuals or groups of 4 or fewer -- you may simply show up!

Friends of Trees is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization which organizes tree planting and care events in neighborhoods, natural areas and on school grounds in partnership with the community, government and businesses.

Since Friends of Trees was founded in 1989, our volunteers have planted more than 750,000 trees and native plants!
