ORGANIZATION: JA of Georgia (Junior Achievement)
Please visit the new page to apply.
Junior Achievement of Georgia invites you to inspire students through participating in the JA Company Program.
What is the JA Company Program?
A 13 session entrepreneurial program that provides driven high school students a blended model opportunity to identify the key elements of organizing and operating a business through increased student interaction while emphasizing JA's experiential approach to learning. This is a 'learn by doing' program where students work in teams of 10-15 to conceptualize, capitalize and manage a small business.
Join a Business Teacher as they partner with Junior Achievement of Georgia to guide students through the entire process. The program culminates late February with an opportunity to inspire students as they develop personal action plans based on key concepts learned.
Why Volunteer?
- Become a mentor to students, sharing life and career experiences
- Play a pivotal role in positively impacting the next generation of leaders
- Enhance and build communication, leadership and management skills through the 13 session program
What does it mean to be a JA Company Program Volunteer?
Volunteers are provided with an overview of the role outlining tasks and objectives for each meeting. Volunteers are requested to participate in a conference call offering a chance to learn more about availability to extend real world references to the program participants in conjunction with the Advising Teacher. Successful volunteers interweave their personal business experiences into the lessons and provide students with the guidance to 'think outside the box' The opportunity includes once a week visits to the school.
If your schedule permits for this timeframe, please contact kjennette@georgia.ja.org for further details.
