Friends of Willow is dedicated to providing rescue, shelter, medical care, and spay/neuter services for abandoned, abused, or neglected rabbits in Southern Maine. The mission of Friends of Willow is to (1) place all of these rabbits into permanent and loving, safe indoor homes and to (2) educate the public regarding companion rabbit care, the benefits of adopting, and the importance of spaying and neutering.

Position Detail

Job Description:


We are currently looking for a Corporate Relations & Fundraising Coordinator to join our team. The Coordinator is responsible for organizing activities to raise funds or otherwise solicit and gather monetary donations or other gifts for the organization.

Serving as a Coordinator for FOW can provide an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about improving the lives of animals.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain corporate fundraising programs
  • Maintain a comprehensive donor database
  • Develop and maintain media contact lists
  • Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions
  • Recruit sponsors, participants, or volunteers for fundraising activities
  • Direct or supervise fundraising volunteers
  • Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals or corporate donors
  • Establish fundraising or participation goals for special events or specified time periods
  • Explain the tax advantages of contributions to potential donors
  • Identify and build relationships with potential donors
  • Monitor budgets and expense reports for fundraising activities
  • Attend community events, meetings, or conferences to solicit donations or sponsorships
  • Design or produce materials such as posters, website posts, or newsletters to promote, market, or advertise fundraising activities
  • Develop fundraising activities that maximize participation or contributions and minimize costs
  • Write and send letters of thanks to donors

Duties:

  • Represent the organization in and to the community
  • Be aware of the organization's program priorities
  • Exercise due care in overseeing the activities of the organization
  • Be willing to work respectfully
  • Correct and take responsibility for errors and oversights
  • Be accessible to staff and to others BOD members
  • Make a two ‐ year commitment to serving on the organization

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to maintain a respectable tone when representing FOW
  • Willing to make a commitment to the organization’s mission and goals
  • Reliable access to online email, drive, and database platforms
  • An affinity for cultivating relationships, building consensus among diverse individuals, and inspiring action
  • Understanding that participation requires a high level of commitment and time
  • A collaborative decision-maker
  • Able to exercise appropriate judgment and oversight
