Mission Statement

New Wave Dance Youth and Community Development, Inc.'s mission is to mentor children and young adults by developing them to be strong individuals. Our goal is to provide them the skills to overcome the current obstacles they face in their lives through the art of dance.

Description

We are a non- profit organization that prides itself on mentoring disadvantaged youth and young adults by developing them to be strong individuals. We teach them to have a sense of responsibility in their Neighborhood and in the World. We provide them with the skills they need to overcome current obstacles they may face in their lives through art, dance and mentorship. We help them to build community partnerships that are consistent with our mission. We are passionate about collaborating in partnership within our community and local school districts. Most recently our children have been the "Special" invited guests at the following events:

Awareness Health Fair for seniors by Nikki Lucas, East New York District Leader and one of our top supporters; 1 st Annual East New York Education Summit by Jessica Franco, Chair of Education at CB5 Brooklyn; Mark Morris Dance Group and Music Ensemble; Staten Island Youth Movement Competition; 9 th Annual Children’s & Young Adult Boat Ride; Juneteenth Youth Empowerment

It is very important to us to ensure that we strive to uphold New Wave Dance Youth & Community Development’s core values of engaging our current and potential children and young adults and keep them on an upwards path of success by providing them the resources and tools needed for their development, in hopes that they will in turn be proactive in sharing their skills through community involvement.
