If you want to be a volunteer who makes a life-saving difference, you have a few hours to spare every week and a safe driving record, Community Blood Center could use your help!
We need weekend and weekday drivers to periodically help deliver blood, platelets and plasma to critically-ill patients in hospitals within a 3 hour drive of Kansas City. Shifts are approximately 2-3 hours long.
We provide the vehicle, training, fuel and candy bars -- you provide the safe, reliable driving! For this role, you must be 21 years of age, participate in an interview, successfully pass a background screening and driving record check, attend an orientation and ride-along, be able to lift up to 30 lbs and have a dedication for saving lives! Kansas residents need a standard driver's license. Missouri requires a Class E license that you can get from the DMV(we will reimburses the cost after 6 months of service).
A minimum commitment of 12 hours over 6 months of service is required.
Families/friends/couples can drive as a team but both have to complete training.

NOTE: At this time, CBC does not provide court-ordered community service hours.
