YWCA Dayton will, for the second year, host a collaborative friend and fundraiser with Artemis Center to promote awareness of domestic violence and raise funds to support domestic violence victims. This 5K is held in conjunction with the University of Dayton School of Law Human Rights Awareness and Advocacy Committee and the University of Dayton Women's Center. Activities include a community vigil to honor those lost to DV and celebrate DV survivors, followed by an evening 5K run/walk/stroll (participants are encouraged to wear purple and bring accessories that glow or light up). Various activity vendors and informational tables will also be on hand. Volunteers are needed to help us set up the course, decorate the pavilion, help with guest registration, check in, assemble luminaries and distribute vigil candles, man water and course lighting stations, man activity tables, and help with event tear-down.
Two shifts are available:
2pm - 6pm (set up)
6pm - 10pm (volunteer for tasks during and after event)
Instructions and materials will be provided on site. For registration and donation volunteers, standard experience using a laptop computer and navigating a website/online donation form required.
Your effort will help one of YWCA's newest fundraisers function smoothly and ensure an enjoyable time!
