Investigate their school, medical and case worker records. Discover what resources they may need. Establish and communicate recommendations to court professionals.

About Us: CASA Middlesex is the only child advocacy program where volunteers are appointed by judges to represent a child's best interest. We serve children from our community in Middlesex County who are in foster care. Children with a CASA volunteer spend less time in foster care and have a higher likelihood of finding of finding a permanent home then non - CASA children. We are endorsed by the American Bar Association, National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Mission Statement

CASA of Middlesex County is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving abused and neglected children who are living in out-of-home placements. CASA recruits and trains volunteers to advise the courts and advocate for the children’s best interests.

Description

Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was created in 1977 to ensure that the best interests of abused and neglected children were advcocated for in court for well-trained volunteer child-advocates. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be voices for these children in court. Advocates conduct independent, fact-finding investigations, review records, and talk to everyone involved with their assigned cases. Their recommendations help insure that these children are placed into a safe, loving homes. It is the CASA vision to make a direct impact on children's lives.

"It's about helping a child replace a life of hurt with one of hope."
