NO PREVIOUS CODING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY - JUST A WILLINGNESS TO LEARN

Interns will teach K-5 students at Madison Elementary School the basics of Scratch computer programming. Using curriculum provided by Code.org, interns will be responsible for implementing weekly lesson plans and providing assistance to students as they work through the curriculum. Interns will evaluate student progress as well as the overall program and make recommendations for how to improve on program delivery.

Classes will be taught at Madison Elementary School in McLeansville, NC. Interns must have reliable transportation to and from the site location. An orientation/training at HandyCapable Network will be required before classes begin the week of September 25. A small stipend will be provided to interns, dependent on grant funding, at the end of the semester. Volunteer service hours will be recorded by HandyCapable Network. Please contact Anne Tubaugh at anne@handycapable.org for more information or to apply.
