"There is nothing more beautiful than someone who choses to make life beautiful for someone else" - Mandy Hale
Help bring joy, comfort and beauty into someone's life. Our Patient Companion Volunteers offer kindness, attention and thoughtful support to hospice patients and family members at a time when it means the most. Make weekly one-hour visits to provide a caring presence, ease loneliness, share stories and laughs, help with enjoyable activities, and remind folks that they are not alone on their end-of life-journey. Volunteers mean so much to our patients and families!
We offer great training and ongoing support to ensure that you feel comfortable in your work as a valued member of our Hospice Team.
Visit our website at: www.goodshepherdhospice.com to submit your volunteer application and we will follow up with you right away. Or, contact Julie Luoma at 913-322-3297 or julie.luoma@goodshepherdhospice.com for more information.

Serving People With Compassion and Dignity
COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.
At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It's a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually...and for whatever that means individually.
We believe that in the passing of a person’s life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.
Our Volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease lonliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.
Our History - 22 Years of Comforting and Serving
Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we’ve touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50, 000+ family members through their time of need. Every member of our team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
We'll work with your schedule.
