- DISHHoward Brown Health’s premiere seated dinner and paddle fundraiser. *hosted by Mimi Marks March 10th 6 to 8 pmInfo about the event:https://howardbrown.org/event/dish/ **Questions about volunteering: **volunteer@howardbrown.org We are now recruiting volunteers for our seated premiere dinner at the Fairmont Hotel on March 10th. This is our first in-person fundraiser in over two years so please be sure to only sign up if you can fully commit to showing up on time with no exceptions. Event volunteers have the opportunity to learn new skills from professionals and meet others in the community while supporting a great cause! OUTLINE OF VOLUNTEER’S RESPONSIBILITIES: Event volunteers assist on the event day for set-up, guest assistance, and registration or clean up. All roles require some standing, use of hands, walking, and lifting at times. Dress Code: Cocktail Attire and comfortable shoes Safety: Fully vaccinated and masked for the entire shift! Volunteers must check-in with Volunteer Services with proof of vaccination before the start of the shift. TIME COMMITMENT: Event day volunteers will typically be asked to commit at least 3 to 5 hours. **Requirements: **Must be over 18, comfortable in fast-paced public events, engaging with community stakeholders Sign Up Here: https://tinyurl.com/4vzhp8ww Shifts and Time are listed on the sign-up form! Description
Howard Brown Health was founded in 1974 and is now one of the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ) organizations. With an annual budget of over $22 million, the agency serves more than 18,000 adults and youth each year in its diverse health and social service delivery system focused around seven major programmatic divisions: primary medical care, behavioral health, research, HIV/STI prevention, youth services, elder services, and community initiatives. Howard Brown serves men and women, infants, youth, and children through a multi-site operation based in Chicago that includes a main health and research center in the Uptown neighborhood, Howard Brown Sheridan, Howard Brown Halsted, the Broadway Youth Center, and three Brown Elephant resale shops in Chicago (Lakeview and Andersonville neighborhoods) and Oak Park. Howard Brown Health now administers a range of medical and behavioral health services, with sliding scale rates, to ensure that everyone in these underserved populations receives essential healthcare needs, in addition to ongoing research.
