We'll be working on a loop trail from our field office, which we use for public educational hikes throughout the year. We'll be mainly moving downed branches and rocks from the path and "swamping" - moving previously cut branches away from the main trail. It's a beautiful spot, and a good way to get a workout in while improving a hiking trail for the community.
Our field office can be tricky to find, so I'll send detailed directions to folks who RSVP.
Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and long pants. A long shirt can be helpful too, to help prevent getting scratches when you're "swamping" the cut vegetation.
Please also bring a water bottle and any needed allergy medications and a signed waiver (unless you've already signed one for us): https://www.traviscountytx.gov/images/tnr/docs/bccp/volunteer-liability.pdf
If you are under 18, or bringing a minor with you, please fill out the minor waiver form, which requires a parent/guardian signature: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/images/tnr/docs/bccp/volunteer-liability-minor.pdf
