Event Volunteers serve in a variety of ways, both leading up to and during our many events throughout the year. Volunteers may serve on planning committees and/or help with the operation and activities during the events. Event Volunteers are helpful and friendly and available to serve in at least one of a variety of support needs. They enjoy participating in the events and extend that enthusiasm to helping to make those events wonderfully memorable experiences for all of our guests. Event Volunteer opportunities are great for large groups of volunteers or individuals. Admission to events is free for event volunteers! Multiple opportunities are available throughout the year and include events such as: SciFridays, ReinBeer, Derby Party, SeptemberFest, Christmas at the Mansion, and Summer Sunday Lawn Concerts.

Description
Founded in 1965, opened in 1966 and in the historic Turner Mansion since 1968, the Museum of the Southwest has spent over fifty years serving the Midland and West Texas communities by producing exhibitions, programs and events about science, art, astronomy, archaeology, history and culture.
We have many opportunities for volunteers, from events to educational programs, family programs, tours, and general facilities help.
