Accounting and financial lead

ORGANIZATION: MINT ARTISTS GUILD

  • 4 people are interested

Mint Artist is seeking someone with a passion for numbers, accounting and youth development! We need someone to develop our financial systems and finish the chart of accounts in Quickbooks - the underpinnings that one volunteer started but got waylaid by life events and couldn't finish.

Ideally this person will sign on for at least one year to work with our executive director on monthly accounting. Experience in full cycle accounting and Quickbooks required. If you have some experience recording and tracking a small nonprofit's finances that's a bonus - or we have an experienced but very busy treasurer who will mentor you.

Mint is a small nonprofit - not a lot of accounting transactions each month. But we're growing and we want to do it right. We are asking for two people because we have ideas on how the job could be shared between them - but we're open to one super volunteer too.

And the right person could be offered a spot on the Mint Advisory Board and / or our board of directors within a year or so - so this is an opportunity for those who may want to join a nonprofit board to get on the onramp.

About MINT ARTISTS GUILD

Location:

PO Box 21667, Detroit, MI 48221, US

Mission Statement

Mint Artists Guild helps to transform aspiring Detroit youth artists through education, exceptional engagement and experience, resulting in earning opportunities, skill-building, exposure, and mentoring. Mint launches creative careers and lasting connections. Mint also infuses the community with art and creative experiences, enhancing a collaborative, healthy and generous culture.

Description

Mint works with artists ages 13 to 23 on entrepreneurial, career and life skills, and gives them opportunities to sell their creative work. A summer jobs program, business workshops and online educational and informational resources are offered to young visual artists. In 2020, we launched the Metro Detroit Youth Arts Competition, a creative activity kit giveaway (of 5,500 kits) and in 2021, we launched leadership development training. This year, we are working on an alumni engagement program, adding creative jobs to our website and so much more. We need your help and support to continue our growth!
