If you are studying or working in the field of Ministry and would like to give some of your free time to patients and their families associated with hospice care please consider volunteering with Grace Hospice.
We serve families of all denominations and would love to talk with you about our volunteer program.
Volunteers create their own schedules and we are very flexible with our orientation process.
Being a hospice volunteer could mean:
reading to patients
listening to music together
discussing current events
listening to patients talk about happy events in their past
singing
watching TV with patients
sitting at the bedside
just being a friend

Description
Hospice Volunteers provide companionship to our patients and their families. They may visit with patients, read, sing or watch movies with patients. Hospice volunteers find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Many of our volunteers are introduced to hospice thorough the death of a family member and understand firsthand the value of hospice care, but nearly 20% of volunteers are new to hospice. Volunteers consistently report that helping the terminally ill through hospice is not about dying but about living.
