Do you enjoy being the first friendly face at an event? Love making new connections and building relationships? You'd be the perfect fit for this role: Event Receptionist!
At a Girl Scout event, the Event Receptionist is waiting patiently at the front door, ready to get girls checked in and swept off to their first activity. Your job might include checking names off the roster, handing out schedules, badges, and swag bags, or answering simple questions from inquisitive leaders.
While you're at the event, our Girl Scout Program Managers will build up your capacity in areas that interest you - public speaking, relationship building, and event management.
Girl Scout events are hosted in our four major service areas - Madison, Janesville, Platteville and La Crosse. Events are typically held on Saturdays (and some Sundays) and last from 2-6 hours. Volunteer shifts are available. Corporate volunteer groups and CSR organizations are welcome. For a specific calendar of events, check out our Activities Calendar: http://www.gsbadgerland.org/en/activities/activities-calendar.html
We look forward to meeting you!

Mission Statement
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Description
Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
