ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Wisconsin - Badgerland Council, Inc.

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Are you a problem-solver? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? You'll LOVE being a Logistics Specialist at a Girl Scout event!

Logistics Specialists will lend their expertise to Girl Scout Program Managers to make sure events run smoothly. You may help out with setting up the event space, cleaning up as activities are completed, packing up vehicles for travel, grabbing things that were forgotten (oops!), and finding the answers to complicated questions that need quick solutions.

Along the way, our Program Experts will train you in the fine art of youth event management, program development, and conflict resolution. It's all in a day's work for a Girl Scout.

Girl Scout events are typically run on Saturdays and Sundays out of major service areas - Madison, Janesville, Platteville, and La Crosse. Help is always needed, usually for three to five hours. Volunteers will receive prompt communications two to four weeks before events. Training is available.

Want more information about specific event needs? Check out our Activity Calendar: http://www.gsbadgerland.org/en/activities/activities-calendar.html

We look forward to meeting you!

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
